RESULTS, TESTS AND X-RAYS
These are available by phoning the surgery on 0207 837 3811 after 12.00pm. Results of blood test will usually take one week, X rays 7-10 days and cervical smears up to four weeks. When you telephone you will be advised as to whether there is any action to be taken and if you need to see the doctor again.
You can view your test results on your patient online access.
OTHER RESULTS – These will be given personally, by the doctor at a follow-up appointment or by letter.
For complex medical and psychological problems. Doctors do not routinely deal with blood pressure checks, asthma checks, cervical smears and family planning/ contraception follow up.
PRACTICE NURSE CLINICS
Our nursing team delivers a variety of nurse-led clinics for long term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension disease along with family planning and sexual health clinic. They also provide full range of treatment room case such as:
- Childhood Immunisation (please remember to bring your red book)
- Travel immunisations/ advice
Practice nurses help with medical aspects of overseas travel: documentation, immunisations, protection against malaria and medical advice. Most immunisations are free of charge. Please check with the nurses about charges for other vaccines.
Ideally, for short stay holidays (less than 1 month) please book your appointment 6 weeks in advance.
For long stays (more than 1 month) book your appointment as soon as possible some of the recommended vaccines are a course of 3 and can take a number of months to administer.

- Blood pressure checks and healthy lifestyle support
- Health screening
- Dementia Screening
- Smoking cessation
- Well women services
- Cervical Smears – We carry out routine cervical smears and we will remind you when your next test is due.
- Long term condition clinics (asthma clinic, COPD clinic, diabetes clinic etc)
MINOR AILMENT SCHEME
If you suffer from certain minor ailments you may not need to see a doctor – you can get advice and treatment direct from the Pharmacist with the Minor Ailments Scheme. The Pharmacist is able to prescribe to prescribe certain medications without you visiting your GP for conditions such as athlete’s foot, constipation, cystitis, hay fever, head lice, mouth ulcers, thrush, warts, verrucae and simple colds/runny nose. If you are entitled to free prescriptions you will not have to pay for your medication. All you have to do is join – please contact the receptionist who will be able to provide you with a list of conditions and registration form should you require treatment.
CHILD HEALTH SERVICES
Well Baby and child development checks are carried out at the Brunswick Medical Centre. Ask at reception for details.
The health visitor’s job is to help people stay healthy and to advise on prevention of illness. All pregnant women and families with young children have a named health visitor.
The practice offers maternity services, sharing antenatal care with our local hospitals and community midwives.The doctors and community midwifery team carry out maternity services. Please let the receptionist know if you need an antenatal or post natal appointment.
PATIENTS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE
We provide a confidential service to all of our patients including under 16s. Please feel free to make an appointment to discuss any health related problems that you might have. Including:
- Emotional problems
- Drugs and alcohol
- Sexual health
- Growing up
- Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing
Smoke Free Camden

Icope (Psychologcical Therapies) clinic
You will need to see doctor or nurse practitioner for a referral.
TAP (Team Around the Practice) Clinic
Team around the Practice offers a flexible approach to mental health interventions, and is having a clinic at Brunswick Medical Centre every Friday. You will need to see doctor or nurse practitioner for a referral.
Age UK Counselling
A service provided to men and women aged 55 and over who living in Camden. You will need to see doctor or nurse practitioner for a referral.
Surgery is registered with the local Foodbank and food vouchers are available for patients.
Long term conditions Clinic.
These dedicated clinic run by lead GP and Practice Nurse offering longer appointment for people with complex conditions or long term illness.
Each year, in early October, we begin our Flu campaign. We invite patients who are over 65 and those with certain conditions to attend for a vaccination. Alternately, you can received your flu jab from your local chemist.
Evening and Weekend GP appointments
Camden Resident or registered with a Camden GP who find it difficult to attend their surgery during normal opening hours can access this service. Patient must give consent to have medical records shared.

Appointments available on weekdays 18:30–20:00 and on weekends 08:00–20.00.
GP Hubs are staffed by experienced GPs and Nurses and offer assessment and treatment for adults and children.
