Save a Baby’s Life: Free Infant Basic Life Support Workshop Open to Parents and Carers
Parents, carers, and members of the local community are being invited to attend a free Infant Basic Life Support (BLS) workshop designed to equip them with the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency.
The “Save a Baby’s Life” workshop is being delivered in partnership between the KCL Paediatric Society and the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS). The session focuses specifically on infant emergencies and provides practical, hands-on training in essential life-saving techniques.

Infant emergencies can happen suddenly and without warning. During the workshop, participants will learn how to:
Recognise when a baby is unresponsive or not breathing normally
Perform effective infant CPR
Safely manage choking incidents
Act quickly and calmly while waiting for emergency services
The aim is to make life-saving knowledge accessible to everyone, particularly those who regularly care for babies. No prior medical knowledge or experience is required, and the session is free of charge.
“Knowing what to do in the first few minutes of an emergency can make all the difference,” Brunswick Medical Centre’s Practice Manager Joanna said. “We want to empower parents and carers with practical skills that could one day save a child’s life.”
The workshop is open to all members of the public, including expectant parents, grandparents, babysitters, and guardians.
